Cosmetics Development

FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT • BRAND & PACKAGING DESIGN • VENDOR SOURCING • PROCUREMENT WORKFLOW • PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

PROBLEM: Cosmetic brand with over 20 years experience wanted to relaunch with new branding, packaging, and products to meet the demands of current market demographics.

ROLE: Art direction, product management, packaging design, production lead (for both packaging and formulation fill)

SOLUTION: Creating mockups of products was an essential part of the ideation process and helped principal stakeholders visualize which products to move forward into production.

DESIGN PROCESS: I was responsible for the entire product innovation pipeline, from product conception and packaging design to timeline management and execution of entire procurement workflow. Working with multiple domestic and overseas vendors to coordinate packaging, product formulation & fill, and shippment of all deliverables.

My procurement workflow relied on sourcing information compiled within a comprehensive asset management system. I designed my own template in Airtable to manage all product components for production, track of all vendor contacts, archive invoices, and calculate costs for production that would update down to cost per unit.
